Clinical Intern

Clinical Internship is a paid internship position. As a clinical intern you are responsible for providing therapeutic services to members and/or their families undergoing difficulties ranging from interpersonal conflicts, behavioral concerns, psychological worries that can stem from acute to chronic physical, emotional or psychological trauma. Clinical interns are required to coordinate with community agencies, planning, developing and evaluating program and services. Clinical intern will promote member and family wellness through evaluative measures and work closely with support providers to address both the psychological as well as functional concerns of members and/or families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (May vary)

  • Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations.
  • Facilitates meetings (e.g. IEP conferences, parent meetings, in-service, etc.) for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding students’ functional goals.
  • Coordinates and communicates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service and mental health services for the purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc. to meet the needs of specific students.
  • Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or presenting information and/or meeting credential requirements.
  • Prepares documentation (e.g. evaluations, observations, progress, and outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information.
  • Assesses individual and family strengths and weaknesses within and in consideration of multiple environments for the purpose of determining member’s present level of functionality and developing recommendations.
  • Complete and be trained in various therapeutic approaches to include: Trauma informed approach, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
